You’ve got to be so careful what you say nowadays. People will completely twist what you say, to fit their agenda. If they want to be the victim they’ll take the kindest, most well meaning words, find the hole in it and exploit it, making you the mean one. It leaves you bewildered, wondering what just happened. If people are on the defensive, and particularly the offensive they’ll look for the hidden meaning in what you say. Something that confirms their own beliefs about themselves, about you, and about what you think of them. They can’t see clearly! ~ Libby Dee
People will choose to see offense where none exist and turn themselves into victims. Nothing you can really do about that. It’s their private war and not yours.
You cannot be responsible for everyone else’s perceptions. Proving your heart to others isn’t worth it when there is constant judgement. Those who are not truly happy will always find a reason to talk poorly of others and if you don’t remove yourself from it, you become it right along with them. What others don’t like about you is their issue, not yours. Always choose happiness.
